So many people talk about listening to music and being inspired and it sounds like such bullshit. Yeah you turned on Adele and now you’re inspired to drunk text your ex and explain to him a very detailed and itemized list of how he destroyed your entire life or blast Jasmine Sullivan and thereby lose any hold on your remaining sanity and take a crow bar to his car or something. I wouldn’t know, never been in love and all that jazz, but I imagine it goes something like that. Maybe less dramatic, maybe more. Or maybe I just know a lot of really dramatic people, who can say?
Nevertheless, for months people kept saying Donald Glover was really funny and it would go in one ear and out the other. I wasn’t refusing so much to listen as it was just a lack of interest in sitting down to watch 30 Rock or Community, who has the time? Shows take too long to get into and it takes me a billion years to finally getting around to watch something someone told me was funny; i.e, Modern Family. Anyway, I finally got around to watching some Dong Lover (no pun intended, that’s his name) stand-up and it was funny; however, Childish Gambino is even more stellar, like really amazing. It’s like he’s been living in my head for 23 years and is now regurgitating every thought I’ve ever had but been too PC to say. Well, I can now say Donald “I Am Just A Rapper” Glover has inspired me to get my shit together and accomplish my goals and such, because “these smart middle-class black kids need a role model.” See look at that, I even made a blog post for the first time in months.
while unemployed, im just going to keep listening to this. it gets better.
this song is amazing. karen owen? too soon?
-a perfect summation of a Snooki book
i have many things to say about this; however, i need to collect my thoughts before i delve into this gem of a powerpoint presentation. it has first and foremost solidified that “Shades” (the movie i wrote and produced for intro to production) was not at all far from the truth.
